Psychobiology Lab: We interact with our environment by movement, whether by using objects with our hands, by walking to move about in space, or by talking to communicate our thoughts to others. The way in which the brain controls movement can be studied with transcranial magnetic stimulation, a procedure that allows direct stimulation of the brain in conscious behaving humans. Transcranial magnetic stimulation can be used to study the brain processes that are responsible for learning and executing the skilled movements that are important parts of our everyday lives.
